We Used to See a Lot More Rabbits Before the Foxes Came Into Town, hardcover book, 24 pages, 2020.
We Used to See a Lot More Rabbits Before the Foxes Came Into Town is a book dealing with my mother’s chronic illness and recovery. This book is an act of bearing witness. The title is a direct quote from my mother.
I am interested in photographing the tree after it has been struck by lightning, not the violence of it being struck. In this way, I deal in terms of aftermath, and how that concept extends beyond the initial trauma. The images in this book are deeply personal as well as universal. I am quietly working through and past images that function as a catalyst for processing what has happened.
